How To Succeed As A Blogger Today

Have you heard about “blog posting”? Basically a blog or a weblog is like an online journal devoted to a subject of interest to you. It’s the most personal type of website and is a part of the social media fad which is currently very hot. If you want to start a blog or make your existing blog more interesting, you should find these tips helpful.
A key to a successful blog is to blog often. One way that many new bloggers fail is that they start a new blog and only update it once every two weeks or less. Readers become bored when they must wait too long for a new update. You need to post at least once a week, and use a service, like Feedburner, to allow your readers to receive email notification of your new post.
Write blog posts that are interesting to your readers. Everybody does chores like cleaning the house and washing the laundry. Such content would have to be presented in a unique way to get readers to care. Focus your blog on something that you know people will want to read. Keep in mind that your goal is to attract people to your blog.
Stay real. Don’t pretend to know everything. You want to show that you are being open and honest, as well as being transparent. Make authenticity a hard-and-fast rule. Blogs are as unique as the individuals who create them. Don’t waste time being a perfectionist. View this as a work in progress. Of course you will make mistakes from time to time. Ultimately, people will want to read your content because of the unique spin you put on it.
Make sure your posts are clear and concise. Provide as much detail as possible without putting your readers into a coma! Most of your blog followers don’t expect, or want, you to go on and on about minor details. They want the meat not the garnishment!
It’s helpful to allow your visitors to post in your blog. This practice could help you to develop good relationships with other blog owners, which could prove lucrative in the future. Do not disregard the importance of building cooperative relationships. If you ever need a favor in the future, that relationship could be the means of obtaining it!
Focus on providing informative or inspirational content for your blog. The more your content interests readers, the more traffic you’ll get. Your readers will be happy to return if the information you provide is factual, informative and fun to read.
The best blogs on the web strive to attract an Internet user’s attention. Applying these tips can be a big help in having a blog that draws in more readers. Most people blog just for the fun of it, but there is money to be made from running a blog if you are so inclined. Regardless of what the ultimate goal of your blog posting is, make sure to have fun.

"Substitute "damn" every time you're inclined to write "very;" your editor will delete it and the writing will be just as it should be."

  • This is the first Colm Tóibín novel I’ve read. I’ve been circling around his books for some years, after hearing (and liking very much) his readings aloud on radio and … Continue reading →
  • Up until the mid-fifties, J.D. Salinger had been circling around the eldest child of the Glass family, Seymour. Seymour appeared as the main character in the short story “A Perfect day for Bananafish”, but for the most part he stayed in the background. At the time of Franny and Zooey he was already dead. But in almost every Glass family story, Seymour was a presence: the soul, conscience and genius behind Les and Bessie Glasses’s large troupe of precocious children. Now, in twin novelllas packaged in one volume, and appearing in in 1963, Seymour gets top billing. But because these are...

  • It’s like taking your skates off after hours rolling about and finding that your feet and the ground no longer understand each other. You want to glide, float past people and things, but you can’t. So you think, OK, let’s get on with it, walking it is, one foot after the other please, but even so it takes a while to come together, because you’ve still got your skates on, in a sense. The brain says Walk, the feet say Skate. And if someone should come across…... Translated from Portuguese by Anthony Doyle
  • A VL Classic, originally posted October 2008 While we are all aware of Napoleon’s energetic attempts to conquer the world, Nina Burleigh splendidly tells of his disastrous Egyptian campaign, which is less well known. And instead of the military tactics, she focuses on the civilian participants, a group of scientists and their students who accompanied the expedition with much more successful results. It makes for fascinating reading. The book is loosely grouped into chapters focusing on the types of scientists that went, not only the expected doctors and engineers, but also astronomers,...

Fast fact about writing

Recently, the writer and neurologist Alice W. Flaherty has argued that literary creativity is a function of specific areas of the brain, and that writer's block may be the result of brain activity being disrupted in those areas.
