Spotlight On You: Getting Attention For Your Blog

Technology has greatly advanced through the years, and it has changed the way individuals communicate forever. Writing A Blog is very popular in our society. If you’re wanting to learn about the running a blog phenomenon, then you’ve come to the perfect place for that.
Be present for your readers. Make it a habit to respond to your readers when they have a question. If you’ve begun to connect with your visitors, they’ll expect that you’ll be around regularly. Remember that other people out there will be disappointed if you give up on your blog.
Don’t overdo any element on your website, such as advertising or keywords. If you do this, search engines will flag you, negating all the work you are doing. Remember to write for humans, not for search engines. That means writing in a smooth, natural way.
Commenting on other people’s blogs is an excellent method of raising interest in your own blog. If you like Google reader, create a separate folder in it for other blogs you’re following. Visit those blogs daily and add your two cents, often.
Remember you’ve got a life beyond blogging. When you fail to take time away from your computer to enjoy all that life has to offer it can lead to obsessive behaviors, often resulting in blog burnout. Make sure to leave time for yourself; go for a walk or talk to a friend. The time you take aside from working on your blog will improve the quality of time that you do spend on it.
Strive for authenticity in your blog posts. Don’t offend your reader’s intelligence. Be honest, transparent and open to new ideas. Make authenticity a hard-and-fast rule. Your blog should be an expression of your individuality. You should strive to improve, but don’t spend too much time trying to make things perfect. If you are incorrect, then accept that everyone makes mistakes. The best characteristic you provide to your blog is your unique point of view, so flaunt it!
Your posts should be succinct. Don’t omit important details, but don’t make a blog post so long it will bore your readers to death. Readers who are seeking information through blogs probably aren’t expecting Shakespearian treatment of relatively mundane details or topics. Give them the content they want and, unless your page is poetic or otherwise high brow in nature, not literary prose.
Bear in mind that anyone, anywhere can access a public blog. You never know who you might influence through getting your voice out there. This is something you should keep in mind, and look to write quality content that has a big influence on your readers. Not only will it be fun to produce this type of content, you are producing important information.

"Critics are by no means the end of the law. Do not think all is over with you because you articles are rejected. It may be that the editor has his drawer full, or that he does not know enough to appreciate you, or you have not gained a reputation, or he is not in a mood to be pleased. A critic's judgment is like that of any intelligent person. If he has experience, he is capable of judging whether a book will sell. That is all. (Junior editor, Harper's Bazaar, 1866)"

  • We all know This is Spinal Tap is a parody… or is it? With another comeback album released just last year (with the standard re-working of old material, celebrity guest appearances and a few new tracks thrown in), the band are certainly behaving like their allegedly real counterparts.  To me, it’s just confirmation of something I suspected all along: Spinal Tap have long since stopped being fictional.  Here are my three reasons why, to my mind, they are one of the greatest rock bands of the last century. 1.  The Music The first time I heard the original Spinal Tap album, Smell the...

  • In our previous issue, we discussed about effectively communicating with your Facebook fans. In this issue, we are going to talk about using Facebook marketing to give significance to your clients and customers. Here’s the fact: Over 50% of the whole Facebook community log in to their personal accounts every day. This implies that there are around 250 million of the social networks 500 million who might be able to see your Page. How’s that for a customer base? That represents enormous amounts of dollars in return. Still only a few Facebook accounts have the potential to obtain...

Fast fact about writing

Writing was developed independently in Egypt, Mesopotamia, China, and among the Maya in Central America. There are some areas where the question as to whether writing was adopted or independently developed is in doubt, as at Easter Island.
